Jack Millard's The Threshold
Thanks to  Dan and Susan Gibson
of
Grazin' Angus Acres and Carlo
and Dominique De Vito of the
Hudson-Chatham Winery, we all
enjoyed amazing local wines and
grass-fed, antibiotic-free local beef
and chicken with a four-course
tasting menu with paired wines at
each course. The stars of the meal
were six enormous 2 1/2-inch thick
porterhouse steaks that Grazin'
Angus cut specially for this event.
It's a rare pleasure to fire up the
grill for a classic bistecca Fiorentina just as it's meant to be for a big, hungry group of
carnivores. The bistecca more than met its match, however with Hudson-Chatham
Winery's lusty Merlot--a perfect pairing. Another notable high point of the evening was
the Winery's award-winning port, blended with a dessert wine infused with their own
raspberries. We paired it up with a chocolate and raspberry torte made from those very
same berries. Delicious!
